Pins and needles and daily changes

Hey everyone, we’re still in NICU.

Sean’s been up and down, backward and forward on feeding, oxygen, temperature, irrigations (a euphemism for enemas), and pooping.

The good news is he’s been generally trending upward and while they originally told us he might be able to go home last Saturday, then it moved to Sunday–now it looks like tomorrow he can go home! We shall soon see.

We got oxygen supplies delivered at home and a portable oxygen bottle here to get him home. He’s running in the oxygen high 80s (when unassisted) and they want him to be in the 90s. So he’ll have oxygen for a while until he catches his breath.

The great news is the surgeons who will be working on Sean believe his surgery will not remove too much of his colon. Again, we’ll see. We’ll be going to SkyRidge for surgery in six to eight weeks (once he gets to his fighting weight of 4 kg).

More soon.
